Doing Library Research

Using GALILEO

GALILEO Discovery is an online library portal to authoritative, subscription-only information that isn’t available through free search engines or Web directories.

Review Your Assignment

dog reading

Requirements:

Length: 4 pages, MLA format, include a Works Cited page

Include and document 2 sources in connection with your argument: from New York Times digital edition and/or Armstrong library databases

New forms of technology improve the ability to share information, connect socially or to make communicating with others easier, faster and more direct. Yet there are many arguments surrounding these new social networks. Your task is to first read, analyze and think critically about how technology is influencing and shaping social and cultural ideals. Then create an argument with a specific focus in connection to this topic.

Google Scholar and GALILEO

If you find an article you need using Google Scholar, there is no guarantee  you will have access to the full text.  It is possible that  Lane Library does have access to the journal through one of our subscription databases. Go to the Settings page in Google Scholar, and from the Library Links tab, find and select the following options.

  • Armstrong Atlantic State University - Find It @ Armstrong
  • Armstrong Atlantic State University - Full Text @ Armstrong
  • Georgia Library Services Board of Regents - EBSCOhost Full Text
  • Open WorldCat - Library Search

With these selected, Google Scholar results will display some retrieval options through GALILEO that may be able to help.
