IEEE Computing Society's "destination site" with news, blogs, practical articles and peer-reviewed research aimed at "technology professionals."
First floor of Lane Library, arranged alphabetically by title
IEEE journal titles to which the Lane Library subscribes, recent issues are found on first floor periodical shelves:
COMPUTER, 1988-present
IEEE NETWORK, 2004-present
IEEE SPECTRUM, 2003-present
Lane Library subscribes to a few IEEE Computer Society's publications, but NOT their digital library (as with the ACM.) After identifying a needed article citation use Lane Library's Interlibrary loan service, called ILLIAD, to request a copy of the article (we ask a library that does subscribe for a copy of the article.) All current students, faculty and staff have ILLIAD accounts and the service is free. The ILLIAD service may take a week or so to get the article, start your research early!
An easy method to request a particular article is:
1. copy the article title into GALILEO's Discovery search ,
2.if the correct article citation is retrieved, select the FIND IT button, scroll down and select ILLIAD,
3. login to your account, the database will populate the fields of the ILLIAD artcle request automatically. Complete an article request and
4. the Library's interlibrary loan Dept will send you an e-mail when the article arrives. Likely you will retrieve it by logging into your ILLIAD account and downloading a pdf scan of the article.
Without a subscription one can browse and keyword search IEEE's publications, but NOT retreive the full text online from this link.
